Goodbye dear piano...

The piano is gone. Sold to a pleasant young Norwegian man with a cool accent named Ingvar Tjostheim, that will be seeing many miles of beautiful country in the back of a horse trailer to it's new home in Canada. We hope he enjoys it and plays it more than we did...Now...what to place on the bare wall where it was... :)

Garage sale find...what a ganga!

I found these two barstools Saturday while hitting a few garage sales. Guess how much they were...
$5 each! I'm not kidding, $5 each.
They are dark brown faux leather, just the right height, super comfy and perfect condition!
They match the kitchen like they were made for it.
They were the wrong height for the sellers and never used. I love them!

A weeks worth of life...

School is out as of last week. Memorial Day was the Sahuarita triathalon. Scott did really well. It was a blast watching, as it always is, and we are very proud of him. After the race, we all cleaned up and went to lunch and a movie. (IronMan2). The parts I saw were really good, but Nicole didn't feel well so I ended up taking her home while Scott and Jenny finished the movie and then I came back to get them. Nicole ended up with a 24 hour stomach flu.

Tuesday, the day after Memorial Day, Jenny got her braces off.Her smile is beautiful, (as is she). She is finding it difficult to talk with her retainers in, but will have it down in no time. The Orthodontist gave her a gift bag with all the goodies she couldn't eat with braces like, skittles, nerds rope, now-n-laters, starburst, snickers, gum, popcorn etc. It was pretty cool.

Later that evening the girls had a pool party with some friends. One last hoorah before leaving for Utah. As you can see Nicole is feeling better.

Early Thursday morning, Scott and the girls left for Grandma Jane and Grandpa Ted's house in Utah. I miss them and have called there several times already. Scott will drive back on Sunday and I am having a quiet weekend, which is nice. The girls will have a blast this summer, with Uncle Dave, Aunt Ophelia and cousins Joshua and Aaron arriving from China next week. We love it when they come to visit, but heads up...it's our turn. We are going to China in the Fall to visit them! That will make some cool future posts to come. :)

It's the final countdown...

14 more days until Jenny and Nicole head to Grandma Jane and Grandpa Ted's house for the summer.

Nicole turns 10!

Last Wednesday (April 21) Nicole turned 10! She had two friends over (Ellie and Nubia) and Jenny also had her friend Celilia come. They played/hung out and had a Chinese dinner. After friends went home, she opened presents and we ate homemade chocolate cream pie (she found and copied the recipe off the internet for me all by herself) and watched a movie. We went to Grandma Jeanne and Grandpa Lew's the week before for dinner and she got a panda latch hook rug from her Grandparents and a gift card from her Cousin Dave and his wife Linda. On her birthday, she got lots of art supplies, a stuffed panda, a bible in a little bag and a Utah State Aggies shirt from Grandma Jane and Grandpa Ted. A special gift from Grandpa Ted was a 1oz. silver commemorative panda coin from China. Apparently this is the only commemorative coin that China produces because of the fact that they are so collectable. Each year they are made, they have a different panda picture on them. She has agreed to let us keep it in the safe. She also got some zhu zhu pets/accessories, a Star Wars ipod speaker, some nerf guns and a BB gun with 6000 bb's. Cards with $ came from her Great Grandmas. She had a wonderful birthday!

Jenny's new room...

This last Saturday Scott, Jenny, Nicole and I all put our muscles together and repainted Jenny's room (actually in about 3 hours!) We had purchased a bedspread a few weeks ago and planned a color to match. I made a black bedskirt and used the material from the bedskirt that came with the set for a window valance, which turned out really cute. So far we have her desk back in the room and bought her a new black desk chair (the old one was hot pink). Nothing has gone up on the walls yet, but she has plans of what it will be, in black frames. We also need to get her a new bedside table and a lamp. The walls are really nice, although pretty bright in the picture (they are not that bright) and the bedspread, bedskirt and window covering look really good. She loves it!
