Emergency Vets...

So yesterday we go hiking to Tanque Verde Falls with my parents and our friends Mike and Tina. Scott, the girls, Mike and Tina were already down to the rocks/water and me, my mom, dad and Chica were almost there. Chica decides to jump over a rock into or near a cholla cactus that sticks to her back leg. In her attempt to get it out of her leg, she bites it. She now has cholla cactus in her leg, nose and all over the roof of her mouth and we are now on the way to the emergency vet. They give her pain meds, HEAVILY sedate her and pull all of the cactus spines out. She was tired and loopy for the rest of the day yesterday and has to eat soft food for a few more days. $236 later, Chica is a tough girl and will be fine.
