Wright Flight...

Jenny and Nicole's school has what is called the Wright Flight program. It is just for 5th graders, so Jenny was able to participate if she chose. It consists of making both home and school goals (and keeping them!) and learning about flight history (hence the name Wright Flight, for the Wright brothers) and other aviation studies. The students had to take weekly tests on what they learned throughout the school year and pass with 80% or higher. The program is meant to show students that to set goals and put forth some hard work, it can pay off. Boy did it pay off! Jenny was one of eight students in her class that passed and got to fly a plane BY HERSELF!! Give Nicole 2 years and she will be here too...

This one?

No, she got to fly this one...

They had a pre-flight meeting

Her and another student went up with a pilot, who assisted them in take off and landing the plane. Both got to fly the controls BY THEMSELVES for about 25 minutes each (they landed after 30 minutes and switched places), so she was in the air for an hour total. This was such an awesome experience for her, her grin was a mile wide! We had fun too, and were very proud of her to reach such an accomplishment!

This was Jenny's pilot
