Summer fun...

The girls left Monday to spend the summer in Utah with Grandma and Grandpa. They are big girls and flew alone again. Grandma will fly back with them and stay for a while. While at the airport, running for the parking lot shuttle bus and hurling the suit cases on the bus rack so it can leave, I hear a familiar voice. "Hey, I know you!" I look up and it is my Brother in Law (and the girls' uncle) Steve. He was traveling for business and we just happened to be there at the same time! It made me think that even though we are close in proximity to family here in Arizona, we sometimes just don't see each other enough.
I have talked to and texted the girls a lot in the last few days. Two kids with their own cell phones and modern technology is great. So far in their Utah adventures Jenny has eaten the biggest piece of pizza she's ever had ("It was like a quarter size of a pizza, mom!") and Nicole is making big plans to catch a rabbit at the town celebration, build a rabbit cage with Grandpa and bring it home on the plane. Uh...not sure about that. Gram and Gramps' neighbors have goats that they have visited and I told Nicole to see if they will let them milk them. She thought that sounded cool, so I will keep you updated there.
Scott and I are taking a weekend road trip in a couple weekends to San Diego. We got a 4 star Mission Bay resort hotel that advertises its cheapest room at $239 a night for $95 a night. (I love Priceline!) It will be fun to just hang out, go to the beach and get away from work for a while. Work is great, I am staying on days (rather than nights like I was originally hired for) which I am excited about. I didn't realize how crappy I felt working nights for the last few years. Having a consistent sleep schedule is really worth it. My orientation is almost over and I will be mostly self sufficient soon. Of course I will still have tons of questions and need help on things, but that's expected. I will keep the blog updated on the girls, since they have the summer ahead of them with their cousin coming from China and travels to Nevada and California.
